John Vieira

Rev. John Joseph Vieira, 80, of Safford passed away January 23, 2012. Born in Somerville, MA on July 20, 1931 and a resident of Arizona for 30 yrs, John is survived by his sons John Ronald, Robert Paul, Richard Allen, William Bradford, daughter, Lisa Ann Stratton; grandkids Crystal and Jared Stratton , Liane and Andrea Vieira and beloved cat, Kitty. John was called to be a servant of the Lord. Ordained in 1985, John faithfully shared talents, time and love reflecting Gods faithfulness, compassion and justice. A pastor for First Baptist Church of Pima, after his retirement John continued to serve the Lord in various churches. John also served for Prison Fellowship and he loved to minister to the local Native Americans. No services will be held per Johns request. The family wishes to thank all who prayed and assisted him during the last difficult months, especially the First Baptist Church of Safford, Wanda Ross and Leona Linard. John will be missed but is finally home with the Father.
