It is with a heavy heart that I, Lisa Bruce, share the news of my father Johnny Mike Kulow's passing on April 17th, 2023. Born on February 5th, 1947, Johnny was a man of great strength, resilience, and love. He faced many challenges throughout his life, but as Ernest Hemingway once wrote, "The world breaks everyone, and afterward, many are strong at the broken places." Johnny was certainly strong at the broken places, and his journey serves as an inspiration for everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Johnny spent most of his life in Safford, Arizona, where he made an impact on many lives despite his disability. As a loving father and friend, he had a unique ability to bring joy and laughter to those around him. He was an avid storyteller, and his tales captivated the hearts and minds of everyone who had the pleasure of listening. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Kulow, and mother, Pauline Kulow. Johnny is survived by his daughter, Lisa Bruce, who will cherish his memory and continue to be inspired by the strength and perseverance he demonstrated throughout his life. As Victor Hugo once said, "To love another person is to see the face of God," and in loving my father, I saw the face of God in him.
Please join us in celebrating the life of Johnny Kulow by sharing your memories and uploading photos to his memorial page. Your stories and images will help us all remember the extraordinary person he was and the legacy he left behind.
