Jose M. Luna Sr., age 68, a resident of Thatcher passed away December 16, 2011 at his home. He was born January 22, 1943 in Moctezuma Sonora, Mexico to Rosalio Luna and Petra Martinez. He was one of nine children. He is survived by his wife Maria Elvira Luna of Thatcher; daughters, Ramona (Arnold) of Douglas, Raquel (Alberto) of Tucson, Josefina (Daniel) of Agua Prieta, Mexico; and sons, Jose (Debbie) of Safford, Francisco (Maria Elena) of Safford, Pablo (Reyna) of Safford, Jesus of Thatcher, and Saul (Claudia) of Douglas. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, two on the way, and two brothers. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers. Jose was a Christian that loved God, his wife and children and grandchildren. He was a hard worker so he could provide for his family. Before he left he was retired and enjoyed being at home, and loved working in his garden. He also enjoyed watching novellas (soap operas). He loved spending time watching boxing with his kids. He also spent time playing with his puppies. Jose will truly be missed. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
