Jose Perez

April 2, 1975 — September 30, 2024

Jose Perez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and, friend passed away on September 30, 2024, in Safford, Arizona, at the age of 49. Born on April 2, 1975, in Silver City, New Mexico, Joe was a man whose heart was as vast as the mountains he loved to explore and whose spirit was as luminous as the sun that bathed his childhood home.

Throughout his life, Jose dedicated himself to the art of repair, working as a steadfast repairman for Freeport mining. His unwavering work ethic was mirrored in every project he undertook, and he approached each task with the same dedication he showed to his family and friends. Jose was revered not just for his hard work, but for the warmth he extended to those around him. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone he met with his unique style of humor and dependability.

Joe was proud of many accomplishments, but nothing brought him as much joy as the arrival of his grandchildren. He often regaled others with stories of their adventures and milestones, cherishing each moment spent with little Christian, Kayson, Kaleb, Braylee, Aleah, Isabelle, and his baby granddaughter, all of whom filled his days with endless love and laughter.

Among his cherished memories, building his “square body” truck with friends stood out as a special passion. Jose poured his heart into crafting the vehicle that meant so much to him, embodying his tenacity and creative spirit. Whether fishing or hunting, cooking for his family, or simply gathering for cherished moments, he thrived on spending meaningful time with loved ones, creating bonds that fortified the very fabric of his life.

Jose is survived by his devoted spouse, Tina Trujillo Perez; his children, Anthony Perez, Dominic Perez, Keana Trujillo, and Samantha Perez; and his daughters-in-law, Danielle and Kelsey. He held a special place in his heart for his mother, Juli Crosby, and was immensely proud of his brothers Nathan, Levi, and Jacoby, as well as his sister, Mari Jeff Crosby. His legacy will live on through his niece Cassandra, nephews Jeremy and Gage, and their families. Jose’s four beloved cats—Mama Lucy, Toes, Tuco, and Geraldo—were also a treasured part of his life.

He was predeceased by his father, Jose Luis Perez, his step-father, Jeffery Crosby, and his grandson, Vincent. These cherished individuals will be lovingly remembered alongside him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 11, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Greenlee County Fairgrounds, 1248 Fairgrounds Rd, Duncan, AZ, 85534.
