Joseph Morgan Hubbard, 82, of Central entered peacefully into rest on January 1, 2012. He was born on December 29, 1929 in Central to Emory and Audrey Hubbard. Morgan, as he was known by his friends, lived in Bakersfield, California for a number of years but spent the majority of his life in Central. He was a retired mechanic who loved to camp, square dance, and play penny bingo down at the Senior Center. He also collected coins, model cars and was a talented wood worker. He was blessed to have a best friend in Maderine Mattie Duffey. She was his great friend and caretaker for many years. Together they enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Montana, Idaho and Georgia among other places. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brothers Emory Mac (Alice) Hubbard, Kenneth (Joyce) Hubbard, Rex Hubbard, and Virgil Hubbard; and his sister Charlene Paxton and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Morgan will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 6 at McDougals Caldwell Funeral Chapel. There will be a viewing and visitation one hour prior to the funeral.
