Joseph Sedgeman Jr. October 14, 1924-July 6, 2020 Joseph Sedgeman Jr. of Thatcher passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 6, 2020, at the age of 95. He was born on October 14, 1924, in Morristown, New Jersey to his parents Joseph Sedgeman & Frances Johnston Sedgeman. He had three siblings, William, Richard, and Edith. January 27, 1951, Joseph married the love of his life, Elvera Bacho. They had two sons, Joseph Paul Sedgeman and Brian Michael Sedgeman. Joseph served 30 years in the US Navy, working in radio communications. He was awarded seven medals while serving in WWII and the Korean War. He retired from the US Navy as Chief Petty Officer, CTC E7. Joseph worked 11 years for Phelps Dodge in the Security Department and retired in 1981. Joseph loved his family, as he was dearly loved by his family and those who knew him. He loved going to the Casino, listening to Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly, and Dean Martin and watching his favorite baseball and football teams on TV. He is survived by his son Brian (Letty) Sedgeman, Daughter-in-law Lori Sedgeman. His grandchildren, Amy (Justin) Hudman, AJ Sedgeman, Lisa (Lance) Shurtz, and Michael (Carissa) Sedgeman. His Great Grandchildren are Justin, Tanner, AJ, Elijah, Briseis, Brenden, Noah, Garret, Crystal, Tyler, Landen, Lathen, and Lanae, and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; Ezekiel, Logan, and Brynn. Joseph is preceded in death by his loving wife Elvera Bacho Sedgeman, his son Joseph Paul Sedgeman, his parents Joseph & Frances Sedgeman, and his siblings William, Richard & Edith. Services will be held on Friday, July 10, 2020, beginning with a viewing at 2:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. at the McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
