In loving memory of Josiah Aaron Hunter, who journeyed into eternal rest far too soon on October 12, 2024, in San Carlos Apache Healthcare of Peridot, Arizona. Josiah was born on September 15, 1998 to Kendralyn L. Antonio and the late Jasper Hunter Jr. A laborer in the smelter within the mining industry, Josiah embraced hard work with a relentless spirit, carving a steadfast legacy for his family.
Having graduated from San Carlos High School in 2016, Josiah was a young man with dreams that outstripped time. He was a passionate guitar player, his melodies echoing the heartbeats of lives he touched. An avid skater with an adventurous spirit, he embraced the exhilarating rush of life, always seeking the next thrill. His interests were not merely hobbies; they were extensions of a vibrant personality that radiated joy and warmth.
Josiah's proudest accomplishment came with the profound love he held for his family and daughter Alesana Hunter. God blessed him with a second chance to be a father when he adopted his daughter, Anissa Hunter. This act of love illustrated the depths of his character, where the dry wings of past tribulations transformed into the flourishing sense of duty and care that encompassed his role as a husband and parent. His beloved spouse, Alena Upshaw Hunter, stood by his side, as did his doting parents, Jasper Hunter, Jr. and Kendralyn Longstreet Antonio. His siblings—Brandon Hunter, Sr, Malachi Hunter, Ayden Brooks, Kade Hunter, Ami Hunter, and Trishelle Longstreet—shared with him the laughter, the joy, and the struggles that bind family together. Josiah now joins his father Jasper Hunter, Jr in eternal rest.
The loss of Josiah leaves a vast void, an echo of his laughter and melodies lingering in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the Antonio Residence, 124 Old Moon Base, Peridot, AZ on October 25, at 3:00 PM. A funeral service honoring his spirit will follow on October 26, beginning at 1:00 PM at Snydet-Burnette Hall in San Carlos.
Josiah may have left this world, but his legacy will forever resonate through the cherished memories and the profound love he so freely shared. Let us gather to remember a life lived with passion, a gentle soul committed to the beauty of family, and a heart that knew no bounds.
