Joyce John

Joyce Kay John Joyce Kay John, 71, of Pima, passed away peacefully in her husbands arms at her home in Pima on December 12th, 2013. Joyce was born June 1st, 1942 in Los Angles, California to Verl Peterson and Edwina Taylor. She married Stephen Lavar John, of Phoenix, Arizona; they were married in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on July 18th, 1964. They were blessed with four children, David of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Johnny of Mesa, Arizona, Shirlene Volner of Mesa, Arizona and Darrell of Pima, Arizona. During their married lives, Joyce and Stephen lived in various places from Flagstaff, Arizona to Phoenix, to Kayenta, Arizona to Las Vegas, Nevada. They finally settled down in Pima, Arizona, where they have resided for the last 39 years. Joyce was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in numerous positions, even up until her death. She loved her family and felt it a privilege to be a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Joyce is survived by her husband of 49 years, Stephan Lavar John, her four children David Wayne John (Shanna), Johnny John (Laura), Shirlene Volner (Freddie), and Darrell Ray John (Ashlee); twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive her. A viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Caldwell Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to services on Saturday, December 21st at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pima Stake Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Pima Cemetery.
