Juan Francisco Blancarte, age 69, of Duncan, AZ, husband of Maria Blancarte, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022 in the Mount Graham Regional Medical Center in Safford, AZ surrounded by his loving wife, children, siblings, grandchildren, and extended family. He was born September 23, 1952 in Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua son of the late Francisco Blancarte and Pascuala Nevarez. He was a retired Ditch Boss, working for Sunset Canal for 22 years and was a lifelong resident of Virden, NM and Duncan, AZ.
Juan married Maria Cerna on August 7, 1972 in Ignacio Zaragoza, Chihuahua. The two enjoyed 50 beautiful years as each other’s life long companions and friends. They were blessed with five daughters and one son. He loved his family, to sing, and DJ. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his family. He spent hours helping friends and family with whatever was needed from him, be it laying down tile and roofing, plumbing, electrical, working on a vehicle, or DJing for an event. Always willing to share with others whatever he had to give, he set a prime example of what it was to be a good man. He was proud of all of his children. He had a wonderful smile you could constantly catch him with. He loved to tell a good joke, “you must be single” was one of his favorites. He had an uncanny way to make people feel loved and welcomed. There really is no way to fully express how much he will be missed.
Along with his wife, he is survived by one son: Jaime Blancarte (Jeni), Safford, AZ; 5 daughters: Yesenia Riggs (Justin), Safford, AZ, Jessica Galvin (Spencer), Duncan, AZ, Isabel Blancarte, Duncan, AZ, Cristina Blancarte-Hernandez (Gabe), Safford, AZ, Irma Blancarte, Duncan, AZ; 2 brothers: Armando Blancarte, Duncan, AZ, Heriberto Contreras, Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua; 4 sisters: Maria Elena Blancarte Duran (Efren), Casa Grandes, Chihuahua, Norma Rojas(Marty), Safford, AZ, Ana Kelly (Tojo), Duncan, AZ, Chela Contreras Nevarez(Gerardo) Casa Grandes, Chihuahua; 13 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Juan was preceded in death by his two brothers: Jose Luis Blancarte Nevarez, Reydesel Blancarte Nevarez; one sister: Irma Blancarte Nevarez; and three children.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1005 Fairgrounds Rd, Duncan, AZ 85534 and the burial will follow in the Duncan Valley Cemetery, Duncan, AZ. The viewing will be begin at 9:00 a.m. until time of service of the same day.
