Biography Juanita Flores Rios, 98, of Safford, entered into rest on Monday, December 12, while surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on November 24, 1913 in Thatcher to Juan and Jesusita Flores. Juanita met and married Manuel Rios in 1939 and together they raised 9 children and had the opportunity to raise some of their grand children as well. She loved everyone that she met and would hug and kiss everyone. She will always be remembered as a loving mother and Grandmother. She made magnificent tortillas and Tamales. She fed all of the hungry and homeless who would visit her home. She was an excellent gardener and raised chickens and turkeys. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Manuel; and her son, Frank Guerera. She is survived by her children, Thomas (Eloisa) Guerera of Tucson, Ramon Flores "Monie" of Safford, Virginia (Johnny) Alaracon of Tucson, Tina (Cipy) Garcia of Safford, Martin (Frankie Jo) Rios of Gilbert, Adelina Hernandez of Phoenix, Mary (John) Garcia of Safford, and Rose Rios of Tucson. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 17 at 2 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Rev. Father Edward Lucero as Celebrant. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with rosary being recited at 1 p.m. at the church.
