Judith Fitzgerald

Judith Anne Spendlove Fitzgerald 1941-2009 Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away December 23, 2009. Judy was born November 7, 1941 to George Arthur and Flora VaLear Spendlove in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from Olympia High School, in Olympia, WA and the University of Washington. She married her high school sweetheart and eternal companion, Cecil Michael (Mike) Fitzgerald March 14, 1961 in Olympia, WA, and was sealed to him in the Cardston Alberta Temple March 18, 1961. Judy worked as a public school teacher, a dental assistant for her husbands practice, and as a mother of five children. She loved music, was an accomplished pianist and sang with her husband in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir from 1979-1999. Her home was filled with music and Judy always had a song in her heart. She considered development of family unity and compassionate service her life-long callings. To all who knew her she was an inspiring example of kindness, service and unconditional love. She served in numerous callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her greatest calling was serving and caring for her family. They will greatly miss their number one fan. Judy was preceded in death by her father, mother and older brother, Steven. She is survived by her husband; five children; Michael (Kathy), Ketchikan, AK; Daniel (LouAnn), Rexburg, ID; Rebecca Gardner, West Jordan; Rachel (Byron) Casper , Springville; Katie (Jordan) Needles, West Jordan; 24 grandchildren; and her sisters, Carol (Grant) Jewkes, Providence, UT; Kathy (Gary) Shaffer, Hyrum, UT. Viewings will be held Sunday, December 27 , 2009, 6-8 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4300 S Redwood Rd and Monday, December 28, 2009, 11- 11:45 am at Bingham Creek Stake Center, 8539 S 2200 W, West Jordan. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 28, 2009, 12:00 noon, Bingham Creek Stake Center. Interment, Utah Veterans Memorial Park, 17111 S Camp Williams Road.
