Julia Garrobo

Julia Aguilar Garrobo, 80, of Thatcher passed away December 19, 2013 at her home with her family by her side. Julia was born July 24, 1932 in San Lorenzo, New Mexico to Rosendo and Cruz Aguilar along with her brothers and sisters. She moved to Thatcher where she married Gilbert Garrobo in 1951. They had three children, Margaret, David, and Lucy. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her tamales and giving gifts to her babies. Julia is survived by her children, Margaret Paling of Safford, David Garrobo of Thatcher, and Lucy Munoz of Thatcher; her brothers, Robert and Samuel Aguilar; 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Garrobo. A viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with the Rosary being led by Father Robert Rodriguez beginning at 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Thatcher Cemetery.
