Kathryn Leavirne Woods, resident of Myrtle Creek Oregon for past 42 years, passed away February 1, 2019 in Roseburg, Oregon, at the age of 83. Kathryn was born April 19, 1935, in Globe AZ to John Adair Gibson & Idell Mack Gibson with brothers John, Jerry, & Henry Gibson and sisters Marsha Lupo & Nada Sullivan. "Kathy" married William Levi Woods, on April 2, 1955 in Reserve, New Mexico. Bill & Kathy were blessed with 8 children; with sons Russell, William, & John, and daughters Janet, Lea, Lisa, Colleen, & Andrea. After moving around Arizona a bit, the family settled in Central. In 1976 they moved to Myrtle Creek, OR. where she resided until her passing. For the past 11 years she has enjoyed coming back to Arizona for a few months each winter. Kathy was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many areas. She was a loving, giving, kind woman, an excellent seamstress, a good cook, & painted many beautiful pieces of art after teaching herself how to paint. She is survived by son Russell Woods (Jonnet), and daughters Lea Martin (Randy), Lisa Smith (Clair), Colleen Betza (John), & Andrea Burgess (Jason). Her brother John Gibson and sisters Marsha Lupo & Nada Sullivan, 18 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband William Levi Woods, 2 sons; Billy & John, daughter Janet, brothers Jerry & Henry, and grandson Jason Tyrel (JT) Woods. Funeral services were held on Saturday February 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel in Myrtle Creek Oregon. A graveside service & burial will be held in the Pima Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019.
