Kay William Porter of Thatcher passed into eternity on October 28, 2021. He was born in Eden, Arizona to Glen & Maude Porter on January 2, 1930.
Growing up in Arizona & California, Kay had an interest in airplanes, where he could sit and watch them all day. When old enough Kay was inducted into the Army in 1951, serving as a Pvt-2 until 1956, when stationed in Japan he met the love of his life, Shitomi, and a short time later they were married at the American Embassy in Tokyo, Japan in August 1956. They made their home in California where they raised their 2 daughters, Linda and Anna Yuki.
In the '80s Kay and Shitomi moved back to Thatcher to take care of his mother, after her passing settling into the family home. Kay had many interests and hobbies, he had the opportunity to fly his ultralight (power Shute ), always tinkering with something in his shop. He built many small airplanes and liked to hear the sound of a small gas motor.
Kay is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Shitomi, his daughters Linda Hernandez and Anna Yuki, and husband Thomas Bencomo. His brother Jimmy and Rhonda Porter, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Kay is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Reginald Porter.
