Kenneth Garland

Kenneth Wendell Garland, 81, of Safford, Arizona passed away in his own home on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Kenneth was born March 7, 1937 in Watsonville, California to parents Claude and Lena Garland. He grew up in Southern California with his seven brothers Russell, Nelson, Ron, Vernon, Gerald, Leland, and Greg. Ken attended Santa Cruz High School where he graduated in 1955. Afterwards Ken joined the United States Army and served in Korea in the 1960's. Ken Garland was a hardworking man, he learned his work ethic as a young man working on a farm where he operated several heavy equipment machines. He later owned and operated a manufactured home business and is most well known for his construction. Ken was the father of three children, Wendy Hargett, Robin Brewer, and Thomas Garland, who will remember him as a loving man who adored his family. With his three children came three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. There were many hobbies that Ken had taken up such as gardening, playing music, and traveling. Ken was a great guitar player but could also play other instruments. He was in a band with his brothers and even wrote his own music. Some being published. After retirement Ken began traveling to the Philippines for fun and even ended up building a home for his friend in the Philippines. He was truly a jack of all trades, and if something needed fixing he was there. He loved to laugh and was a man young at heart. He worked hard, sun-up to sun-down, and was always moving until he found his sunny resting place in sunny Safford, Arizona. Ken is survived by his brother Greg, his three children Wendy Hargett, Robin Brewer, and Thomas Garland. His Grandchildren Brandy Garrett, Charity Sherman, and Dusty Bellangero. His great-grandchildren Jaycee Garrett, Shaundee Garrett, Chanale Sproat, Elliana Bellangero, and Luca Bellangero. And his great-great-grandchildren Kennedy and Devyn Hartley.
