Kenneth D. Hanson In loving memory of our Husband and Dad Kenneth David Hanson, age 77, passed away January 4, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer and Parkinsons disease. Born April 6, 1931 to Roy David and Martha Magdalena Wolfe Hanson in Salt Lake City, Utah. Married the love of his life, Norma LaVon Carlston, September 7, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served an LDS mission in Kentucky. He also served in the Korean War. He was a life-time member of the NRA. He was a true American Patriot. Retired from Kennecott Copper after 30 years as a general foreman at the Bonneville plant. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, hiking and camping with his family and friends. He also had many hobbies. He enjoyed working in his wood shop, farming and growing a large garden every year. Survived by his wife, Norma; 3 daughters, Diana (Baumann), Sherrie (Pete) Moesser, Pauline (Trujillo); 2 sons, David and Stephen; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brothers, Wayne (Kathy) Alaska, Harold (Fern) Afton, WY; 2 sisters, Josephine (DeVel) Gedge, Marlene (Burton) Lorensen; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; brother, Melvin; sister, Grace (Stevens) Schweppe. The family would like to thank his doctors at the VA hospital and also his nurse, Sandy, from Hospice. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 8, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Ward , 3751 South 2200 West. A viewing will be Wednesday, 6-9 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Thursday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens, 2000 East 10600 South.
