Kenneth Dean Hodges entered into rest Tuesday, June 26 at the Lund Home Hospice in Gilbert, Arizona. His beloved wife Dahlia was at his side. Dean was born August 3, 1925 in Minburn, Iowa. He and his family eventually moved to Philomath, Oregon where he graduated from high school and later attended Oregon State University in Corvallis. At 17 years of age he enlisted in the Navy and served aboard naval carriers during World War 11. After the war, Dean moved to Philadelphia and worked for Aero Navigation Services as an aerial topographer. His job led him to Safford, Arizona where he met his wife and fell in love with the Gila Valley. He retired from Fort Grant in 1990 and was an active member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church where he was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Dahlia; daughter, Karin (Kelly Philips); granddaughters, Jaime and Lindsay; great granddaughter, Skyler; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is preceded in death by his parents Lee and Mildred Hodges and a brother, Robert Hodges.
