Kenneth A. McBride, 68, of Double Adobe, AZ, formerly of Morenci, passed away on October 22, 2016 at his home. He was born on September 28, 1948 in Old Morenci, AZ, to Arthur G. and Pearl G. McBride.
Kenneth worked for many years as a copper miner for Phelps Dodge and later as a foreman for Northern Pipeline. He was a very good, hard worker, earning a Safety Award at both places he worked. In his down time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, team roping, collecting turquoise and coaching kid's softball and other sports. His whole life was meaningful; good, bad and ugly. Being with all his kids and grandkids were what meant the most to him. When he wasn't with them, you could find him drinking a beer at the local bar with his friends talking about politics and church.
On April 9, 1966, Kenneth married LuWana Lewis. To this union, two kids were born, Deonna in 1966 and Bonnie two years later in 1968. They lived happily this way for 15 years. In December of 1982, Kenneth remarried Sallie Pilcher-Soto. Again, Kenneth was blessed with four more kids to add to his joy, Marla, Braz, Sherri and Elissa. After the breakup of his second marriage, another special girl came into his life, Allison Spivey. She was not only his girlfriend, but also cared for him during his time of need. He will be missed and loved by all.
Kenneth is survived by his children, Clyde William Brazas McBride, Deonna McBride, Marla McBride Mickelson, Elissa Godinez and Sherri Trinidad, his father, Arthur G. McBride as well as 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl G. Overturf McBride, sister, Barbara Dozier and one daughter, Bonnie McBride Kelley.
A memorial service for Kenneth will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10 a.m. at New Life City Church in Safford.
