Kevin Ryan Upshaw Sr., 49, of Peridot, known by many as Piggy Boy, entered into rest on April 18, 2012 in San Carlos. He was born on November 17, 1965 in San Carlos to Reede Upshaw and Viola Moses. He was the owner and operator of Ryans Security and also worked for the Housing Authority and for emergency medical services as an EMT. As a younger man he ranched with his father in the mountains. Kevin attended Fort Thomas Elementary School and Fort Thomas High School. He was also a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Bylas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known as someone who volunteered and helped people in the community. He is survived by his parents, Reede and Viola Moses Upshaw; his children Kevin Upshaw Jr., Tara Hudson, Talburt Upshaw Sr., Inez Upshaw and Kenzie Upshaw; his sisters, Karen Upshaw, Phyllis Phillips, Leola Upshaw, Sherry Upshaw and Velva Stanley; and four grandchildren. Services for Kevin will be begin with a wake at his home in Peridot from 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 27 to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28. He will then be moved to his fathers home in Bylas for a brief wake until approximately 12:30 p.m. Saturday. His funeral will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Bylas with Paster Vernon Poncho presiding.
