LaNell Douglas

LaNell Hinton Douglas 83 passed away on August 13, 2024 in Safford Arizona. She was born on September 9, 1940 at her grandparent’s home in Fort Thomas, AZ to Willie and LaVona Hinton.

LaNell graduated from Fort Thomas High School in 1957, and attended EAC. LaNell married Larry Bert Douglas at the Mesa Temple in 1961.

She worked as a telephone switchboard operator, secretary and dispatch operator for AZGFD at Cluff Ranch until that closed in the 1970s. Then she went to work as a secretary for ADOT Maintenance Yard until she retired in 1997.

LaNell enjoyed spending time with her family, and sharing stories about family history. She also loved Christmas especially shopping for presents to give to her family. Family and friends appreciated her laugh, her smile, and her good advice. Our Mother will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her brothers James Ellis Hinton and Billy Kay Hinton, and her great granddaughter MadiLynn Villalba.

She is survived by her sister Mary Beth (Hinton) Weddle (Bruce), her husband of 63 years, Larry Bert Douglas Sr., her children Larry Bert Jr. (Chrissi) Douglas, Krisha Beth (Terry) Forsyth, DawnNell Douglas, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
