LaDonna Collette G G 1920 ~ 2009 Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Donna, passed away at home on January 13, 2009 due to a lingering illness, with her loving son by her side. Born June 19, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard George and Amy May Ashton Collett. Married Elbert B. Newport, later divorced. Mom enjoyed many things in her life. She loved singing, drawing, reading, planting flowers and taking care of her home and family. A loving mother with a generous heart for friends and family, with a great sense of humor. She had a kind, loving, spiritual nature. Survived by her children: Carol (David) Weidner, Rusty, Connie, Jim and Sue (Larry) Hansen; 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; brother, Dean; sister-in-law, Geri. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Maxine & Shirley; brother, R.G. A special loving thanks to Rusty, who was so devoted to Moms needs. The family also wishes to thank all those who helped with Mom in her time of her need. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 20, 2009, 12:00 noon at the chapel at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 East 7800 South. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. prior to the services.
