Biography Loren La Selle Taylor, 91, of Safford entered into rest on March 11, 2012. He was born on August 28, 1920 in Colonia Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico. As a young man La Selle was a terrific basketball player. He played on his high school team and then went on to play with the Chihuahua State team. The highlight of his basket ball career was when he and the Chihuahua State team played in the Mexico National Tournament. Following high school La Selle attended BYU in Provo, Utah. He was a cattle rancher by trade and held ranching and roping as one of his greatest hobbies. He was a member of the Lions Club in Mexico and was dedicated to loving his family and to serving others. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Mexico City Mission. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Arletta Taylor; their children, Beverly Shupe, Jeanette Graham, Rosalie Turley, Lewis La Selle Taylor, Lillian Flores, and Lamar Taylor; 33 grandchildren and 69 great-grandchildren; his sister Flora Jean Lupo; and his brothers, Elwood Taylor and Jerald Lynn Taylor; as well as many of his Lunt family siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Hannah Vee Jarvis, Nelle Bowman and Faye Taylor; his sons Stewart Taylor and Carlos Taylor; and a granddaughter Krystal Dominguez.
