Lawrence Ward Gilbert 1933 2008 Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Lawrence Ward Gilbert, age 74, returned home to Heavenly Father on July 2, 2008 in Midvale, UT. Born Dec 6, 1933, in Columbus, GA to Arthur and Pauline Gilbert. Married Helen Faye Cosson May 3, 1953 in De Funiak Springs FL, solemnized June 26, 1961 in the Los Angeles LDS temple. A retired business owner, he loved his family and the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. He also enjoyed camping, travel, and music. He served in the Bishopric, as a choir director, and as a Stake Mission President. He served an LDS Mission in the southern states. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, daughter, Helen (Tim) McIntyre; sons, Michael (Eva) Gilbert, Ken Gilbert; 22 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister. Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 8, 2008, at 1:00 pm at the Midvale 1st Ward, 308 W 7500 S where friends may call 1 hour prior to service. A viewing will be held Monday, July 7, 2008 from 6-8 pm at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S Redwood Rd. Interment, Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 W 4100 S West Valley City.
