Leitha Hawker

Leitha LaVera Larsen Hawker 1919 ~ 2008 Our mother and best friend, Leitha LaVera Hawker rejoined her husband, Ronald Hawker, May 28, 2008. She was born June 14, 1919 in Rigby, Idaho to Chris and Viola Larsen. Leitha and her husband, Ronald, were sealed in the Oakland, California Temple. They had 7 children, Gloria Ebenal, Bradley Hawker, Ronald Hawker (who preceded her in death), Richard Hawker, Robert Hawker, Deborah Culbertson and Ronald Hawker (Little Ron). They spent most of their married years in Pacifica, California and moved to Salt Lake when they retired so they could be close to family and the temple. Our mother was an artist and was very modest about her accomplishments. She was a loving mother and always put her childrens needs above her own. She also had a very sharp wit that lasted till the end. She had many friends that will miss her sweet spirit. We will miss her, but we know that she is now with other family members who have preceded her in death and is at peace with God. Mom, you will be missed and we will always love you. She is survived by 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be Saturday, May 31, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West, 4100 South. A viewing will be held from 9-10:45 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road.
