Lenora "Nora" Robertson passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2017 in Mesa, Arizona at the age of 77 years old. Nora was born on October 16, 1939 in Whiteriver, Arizona to Edith Colelay and George Starr Sr. As a young girl, Lenora attended East Fork Mission School in East Fork, Arizona, where her faith and love with the Lord grew tremendously. She was a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe and was a highly-respected role model to many of her family, friends and fellow students. Lenora was employed with the Fort Thomas School District as a teacher's aide for 22 years. She married Forrest Robertson in 1956, and settled down in Bylas, Arizona, where they raised seven loving children.
She was a wonderful example of faith, hope and charity. Although she was so tiny and frail, she gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. She will be greatly missed by her friends, family, relatives, and all who knew her.
She is survived by her two brothers, George Starr Jr and Michael Starr; her five sons, Dale, Steve, Chuck, Marty and Darvin Robertson; her daughter, Jonell Robertson; her fourteen grandchildren, and her seventeen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, George Starr Sr. and Edith Colelay Starr; her husband, Forrest Robertson; her son, Keith Robertson; her brothers, Leo and Abel Starr; and her sisters, Carmelita Goseyun and Geraldine Starr Chatlin.
A memorial service to honor Lenora's life will be held with a wake on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at her residence in Bylas, Arizona. Funeral service will be on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, starting at 1 o'clock p.m. Interment will be in the Black Point Cemetery.
