Leocadio Morales

Leocadio "Leo" Z. Morales, resident of Clifton, passed away on December 24, 2020, at the age of 91. He was born on August 9, 1929 in Morenci, Arizona to Leocadio & Anastacia Morales and siblings Frank, Olga, David, and Nellie Morales. In 1975, Leo married Katie Gaxiola and together they blended 7 children; Joseph Gaxiola, Mary Merino, Norma Gaxiola, Alicia Morales, Annie Morales, Gilbert Gaxiola, and Andy Gaxiola. He worked for Phelps Dodge and retired as a Mill Operator. He loved his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a great handyman, helping others with their projects. He always kept his yard immaculate and loved listening and dancing to Mexican music. Leo is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Katie, his children Joseph (Berta) Gaxiola, Mary Merino, Norma (Tommy) Jaramillo, Alicia & Chuy Luna, Annie Medina (Andy Lopez), Gilbert (Letty) Jaxiola, and Andy (Yolanda) Gaxiola. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Leo was preceded in death by his parents Leocadio & Anastacia Morales, his two brothers Frank and David, two grandsons Bobby Rodriguez & T.J. Jaramillo, and his first wife Aurora Morales. He will continue to live in our hearts and we will cherish all the special memories we shared. A graveside service will be held on January 30, 2021, at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
