William Leslie Les Agee, 90, of Safford, entered into rest on February 24, 2013. He was born on October 23, 1922 in El Paso, Texas to Leslie William and Sadie Esther (Richins) Agee. Les and his wife Mary have been members of the Gila Valley community since 1983. He worked for El Paso Natural Gas, starting out as a welder and eventually working for many years as a pipeline Superintendant. Les loved his family and loved spending time with them on hunting, fishing and camping trips. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and valued his membership in the Church and his knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as one of his greatest blessings. He served as a Corporal in the 35th Infantry Regiment for two years; from October 20, 1944 to October 25, 1946. He is preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Steve Jirush; his sister, Juanita Vades; and his brother, Leonard L. Agee. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mary Earl Agee; sons, Kenneth L. Agee and Gary W. Agee; six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Services for Les will begin with a viewing at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the LDS Church in Solomon. The funeral will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be conducted by Bishop Brad Montierth. Graveside committal will follow a brief luncheon and will take place in the Duncan cemetery. A viewing will also take place from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, at McDougals Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
