Leslie Taylor, a beloved educator and cherished family member, was born on September 20, 1932, in Phoenix, Arizona. She spent her early years in the vibrant landscape of the Sonoran Desert, nurturing a deep love for music that would follow her throughout her life. With a zest for teaching, Leslie dedicated her career to enlightening young minds in kindergarten, where she effortlessly wove her musical talents into the fabric of her lessons, using the piano and her beautiful voice to create an engaging and joyful learning environment.
Leslie's educational journey began at Holbrook High School, followed by further studies at Eastern Arizona College and Northern Arizona University, where she earned her Master's Degree in Education. Her commitment to education mirrored her dedication to community service, as she and her husband, the late Bennie Jim Taylor, were instrumental members of the Lions Club. Together, they embraced various roles within the club, showcasing their devotion to making a positive impact on the lives of others.
On August 20, 2024, the world lost a luminary when Leslie passed away in Safford, Arizona. She leaves behind a legacy rich with love and music, remembered not only for her talents but also for her unyielding spirit and warmth. Leslie is survived by her loving daughter, Cyndi Saenz; devoted sister, Linda Coffin, and brother-in-law, Bob Coffin; her brother Gary Kinnison and sister-in-law, Vicky Kinnison; along with her cherished three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Each of them carries a piece of her heart, reflecting the love she deeply instilled in her family.
Leslie's soul was collectively enriched by her furry companions, Pierre, Gidget, and Pudden, who provided endless joy and comfort. She also joins her loved ones who have passed before her, including her beloved husband, Ben; her parents, Cyrus and Mildred Kinnison; and her siblings, Verniece, Betty, Nonda, and Loran, now reunited in eternal peace.
Although the light of Leslie's presence will be profoundly missed, the echoes of her laughter, the melodies of her songs, and the love she shared will forever resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. As we bid farewell to a remarkable life, we celebrate the indelible mark she has left within her family and community, ensuring her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and grace.
