Lewis James Rushton 90 Years Young Lewis James Rushton, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great & great great grandfather, brother, and friend was taken from us on Friday February 12, 2010. He died of natural causes. Lewis was taken from all who loved him, to reunite with his wife and many family and friends on the other side. Lewis was born August 18, 1919 in Hunter, Utah, the 11th child of Lewis James Rushton and Julia Caroline Larson. He married Florence Leone Park (Day) on March 15, 1945. He lived in the same house all of his life. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II, and worked as a carpenter for over 40 years. He was an avid hunter and a master gardener for most of his life. He was known as Farmer Rushton by all the kids in his neighborhood. He loved his family and was dedicated to them. Lewis is survived by sons; Richard Day Rushton, and Lewis James Rushton III (Carla); daughter, Julia Lee (Larry) Skogerboe; 8 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, and sister; Irene Jefferies. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leone and 9 brothers and sisters; 1 grandson; 1 great granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2010, 11:00 a.m. at the Valley View Ward, 5180 West 4700 South. Viewing will be held Monday, February 15, 2010 6-8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 south Redwood Road, and Tuesday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to funeral service. Interment: Riverton City Cemetery.
