Lloyd V. Viall Duke Our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away December 13, 2009. He died peacefully in his sleep at the Utah State VA Nursing Home. He was born in Loveland, CO on August 10, 1919 to Lydia Moser and Frank Lester Viall.Married Helen Magdalene Osguthorpe June 9, 1946; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served as a Bishop and many other positions. He was an avid participant in the scouting program. He served in the US Navy and was stationed at Dutch Harbor, AK during WWII. He retired in 1981 after 36 years of working as an asbestos worker with the Local Union 69. Helen and Lloyd were long time residents of Kearns. They purchased one of the first 100 homes in Kearns and were very involved in the community, especially Little League. He is survived by his children: Delbert (Annette), of Gales Ferry, CT; EJ Viall; Anna Woodard, of SLC; David (Sharon), of West Jordan; Joanne Thomson (Bill), of Kearns; Nancy Sienicki (Joe), of Santa Barbara, CA; Melinda Boyce (Gordon), of West Jordan; grandchildren and great-grand children. Preceded in death by his dear, eternal companion, Helen; son, Frank Lester Viall; and brother, Kenneth Viall. We wish to thank the staff and management of the Utah State VA Nursing Home for their love and care of Duke and Papa. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, 10:00 a.m. at the Kearns, Utah Western Hills Stake Center, 5380 West 5400 South. Viewings will be held Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, 6- 8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Rd and Saturday at the church, 9-9:45 a.m. prior to funeral services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Rd.
