Lois Ardell Moffat Hills 1930 ~ 2010 Lois Ardell Moffat Hills was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the LDS Hospital, on October 24, 1930 and grew up in the Sugarhouse area living in her primary residence for 47 years. The daughter of Millen Atwood Moffat II and Rebecca Willmore, she lived most of her life in the Salt Lake Valley. She attended Highland grade school, Irving Junior High, and graduated from East High School in 1947. She married Herbert Lee Hills December 20, 1976 in the Salt Lake Temple. Soon after, they moved into their home in West Jordan. Lois made it a happy gathering place for many, including family and receptions for newly married. Herb preceded Lois in death by 13 years. Graduated in Education from the University of Utah and also studied at BYU. She taught school mainly in the Salt Lake Valley and briefly in Chicago, IL and Los Angeles, CA. She retired after 37 years as a dedicated teacher. Lois was an accomplish pianist, a devoted wife, aunt, and member of the LDS Church, who was often referred to as an angel because of her selfless service and limitless generosity. She served in many callings in the LDS Church, was a part time missionary, and worked in the Jordan River Temple. There was no dust that collected under her feet as she was always on the move doing something for someone. Lois is greatly loved and will be missed. She is survived by her brother, Madison Moffat; 8 nieces and nephews: Robyn Holdaway, Becky King, Tom Moffat, Kathy Morones, John Moffat, Sherrie West, Joel Moffat, and Melody Mercer, and their spouses and children. An evening viewing will be held Friday, January 29, 2010, 7-9 PM at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, UT. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010, 10:30 AM at the Mountain View 6th Ward, 8435 South 2700 West, West Jordan, UT, where a viewing will be held 9:30-10:15 AM prior to services. Interment, Logan City Cemetery.
