Lonnie Dell Jackson, 77, entered into rest on November 5, 2012. He was born on October 31, 1935 in Shreveport, LA to Manuel Jackson and Fannie Denmon Jackson and was raised by his Aunt and Uncle, Margret and Archie Jackson. Lonnie had been a member of the Pima and Eden communities since 1989 and participated in both the Pentecostal and Southern Baptist churches. By profession he was a musician. He was a talented guitar picker, singer and songwriter. He was a member of the CMI Music Association and the Singer Songwriter Association. From 1964 thru 1968 he played in the Friday night, Grand Ole Opry. During these years he was awarded several Country Music Awards. His family and his music were his two greatest loves. He is preceded in death by his parents; step daughter, Christina Curley; step-son, Justin Sherman; step-son, Mike Curley; step-daughter, Donna Honchell; one great-granddaughter, and three brothers. He is survived by the love of his life, Patsy Sherman; Patsys nine children; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and eight of his siblings. A graveside service for Lonnie was held at the Lebanon cemetery on Friday, November 16, 2012. Arrangements were under the direction of McDougals Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
