Lottie Wolfe

Lottie Marie Grisham Wolfe December 13, 1915 - April 15, 2013 Lottie Marie Wolfe was born in Folsom, OK, to Bill and Mattie Grisham. As teenagers, she and E.R. Doc Wolfe met while Christmas caroling and they were married in Tishomingo, OK, on June 30, 1932. Doc and Lottie were blessed with four children: Parthenia (J.R) Ham of Tucson, AZ; Billie (Jim) Hardcastle of Safford, AZ; Jerry (Linda) Wolfe of Thatcher, AZ; and Mike Wolfe of Tucson. In 1944, the family moved to Wichita, KS, where they lived for two years, before relocating to Morenci, AZ, in 1946. When Doc retired in 1976, the couple moved only a short distance to Verde Lee where they enjoyed several years. Their last move together was to Safford, AZ. Doc passed away in 1992, shortly before their 60th wedding anniversary. Lottie remained in her home in Safford until 2010 when she moved to an assisted-living apartment in Tucson. The unions of their children and their spouses were fruitful giving Doc and Lottie 9 grandchildren: Lynda (Gary) Scarbrough of Tucson; Shona (David) Naccarati of Tucson; Calvin (Susan) Hardcastle of Irvine, CA; Kim (Ken) of Eagar, AZ; Kelly (Jim) Mooney of Tucson; Clarke (Terry) of Clifton, AZ; Chris (Ginny) Wolfe of Solomon, AZ; Shelley Wolfe of Safford; and Devon (Chris) Brown of Tucson; 20 great-grandchildren (2 deceased), 11 great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. Lottie was a loving and generous person. If there was something you needed and Lottie had it, she would give it to you without hesitation. While caring for her family always came first, other activities included: manning the election polls, crafting, sewing clothes and stuffed animals, cooking, baking, canning, collecting dolls, and playing dominos. Later in life, she found her true enjoyment and talent, quilting. Everyone in the family has at least one quilt, some have two, some have more. All have been treasured, but never more than now. Lottie was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Doc; her four younger sisters; her daughter, Billie; and two great-grandchildren: Natalie and Lucas. Lottie passed away at her home in Tucson. We will miss her beyond measure, and will treasure every memory. The family would like to thank everyone at Fellowship Square Assisted Living for the excellent care and love Lottie received during her stay there. Services will be held in the chapel at Caldwell Funeral Home on Saturday, April 20, at 11:00, with viewing at 10:00. Final interment will take place in the Safford Cemetery.
