Lucille Evans

April 27, 1946 — March 3, 2025

Lucille Marie Evans, a cherished daughter, devoted mother, and beloved sister, gracefully departed this world on March 3, 2025, at the age of 78, in Thatcher, Arizona. Born on April 27, 1946, in Miami, Arizona, Lucille was the daughter of Wayne and Geraldine Trethewey, who have since passed but remain lovingly remembered as the guiding lights of her early life.

Lucille graduated from Miami High School in 1964, and shortly thereafter, she embarked on a distinguished career as an X-ray Technician at the Mount Graham Regional Medical Center. Her commitment to healthcare exemplified her compassionate spirit, as she dedicated countless hours to ensuring the well-being of others.

On January 28, 1966, Lucille married her beloved Cecil Lee Evans in a ceremony that marked the beginning of an enduring partnership built on love, laughter, and mutual respect. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and joy.

Lucille was a proud mother to her son, Lee (Yunmi) Evans, and a doting grandmother to her grandson, Thomas Evans. She cherished her role as a matriarch, nourishing her family with her great sense of humor which will forever echo in their hearts. Family gatherings were made brighter by Lucille's infectious laughter and her knack for storytelling, as she delighted in weaving tales about their heritage and her passion for genealogy.

Lucille shared a special bond with her loving husband Cecil, her sister, Margaret Cassidy, who, along with Lee, Yunmi, and Thomas, carries her spirit forward. They recall fond memories of laughter and warm embraces, forever grateful for the love that Lucille imparted in their lives. Alongside them, numerous pets enriched her life, each a testament to her nurturing nature and her capacity to love deeply.

The celebration of Lucille’s extraordinary life will take place on Friday, March 14, 2025, with a family only visitation, followed by a public graveside service at the Pima Cemetery beginning at 11:00 AM. As family and friends gather to honor a remarkable woman who touched so many lives, they will remember her not just for her roles but for the joy she brought into the world.

Lucille Marie Evans will be profoundly missed but never forgotten. Her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire each person who had the privilege to know her.
