Lupe Garcia

February 27, 1944 — September 18, 2015

Lupe Benavidez Garcia, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center in Safford. Lupe was born on February 27, 1944 in Safford, AZ, to Pablo and Celia Benavidez. She was raised in Pima and attended school there. In the late 1960s she married Arnold Garcia and they made their home in Goodyear. They both worked at Goodyear Aerospace for several years. She later worked as a Senior Cook at Luke Air Force Base until retiring. Many remember her for her delicious burritos, tamales, and beans. The couple moved back home to the Garcia Family Farm in Geronimo for their retirement years. Lupe is survived by husband of nearly 50 years, Arnold Garcia; son, Chris; she joined her daughter Tammy Rose in Heaven; she is survived by her 11 sisters, and 5 brothers; she was immensely proud of her 6 grandchildren, Josh, Serena, Nicole, Mikey, Ariana, and Chris Jr.; her three great grandchildren. Everyone was blessed to be in her company, was fed by her hand and touched by her generous spirit and care. Lupe will surely be missed by all her family and friends she leaves behind. Visitation and Eulogy will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Father Robert Rodriguez as celebrant.
