Lydia Martin

Lydia Martin was born November 13, 1945, in Central, New Mexico to Andres and Aurora Madrid. Our beautiful wife, mom and nana entered into eternal rest October 17, 2011, with her loving husband by her side. Lydia spent her adolescent years in various parts of New Mexico before moving to Safford in 1967. She married Roy Wayne Martin on August 2, 1969 in Safford and together they had 6 children. Lydias pride and joy were her children and grandkids and she prided herself in being able to stay home and take care of her grandkids. Lydia was a beautiful person that will be greatly missed and never forgotten by many family and friends. Lydia was preceded in death by her daughters Lorrie Ann and Lisa Ann Martin. Her parents Andres and Aurora Madrid and sister Chelo Lechuga. Lydia is survived by her husband Roy Martin of 42 years. Her children Roxanne (Kenny) Bien, Lamonica (Joshua) Rice, Rhonda (Reggie) Villalba, Roy L. (Johana) Martin, 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, 10 brothers and sisters and their families. Viewing and funeral services will be held at the Safford Apostolic Church on Friday, October 21, with Rev. Andy Madrid Jr. officiating. Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing beginning at 1:00 pm with the funeral to follow at 2 pm. Interment will be in the Safford cemetery.
