Lynn Evans 1946 ~ 2009 Lynn Evans, 63, passed away at his home on December 24, 2009 due to sudden complications from a stroke that he suffered in 1994. He was born on November 13, 1946 in Murray, Utah, the last of four children to Thomas Mervin and Edith Towler Evans. He married Sherry Ann Southworth on July 6, 1976, and had five children. They later divorced. He married Renee Gertsch on June 22, 1985 in the Jordan River Temple, and they lived in West Valley City for 24 years. He is survived by his wife and five children: Christopher; Jared; Kimberlee (Aguayo), Shelynn and Jordan, all of Salt Lake City. Lynn was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served a mission partially in Germany, and later Arizona. In 1976, he received a Bachelors of Science from the University of Utah and worked as an Accountant for the State of Utah, and was a member of the National Association of Accountants. He served for Twenty years in the United States Army Reserves and retired with the rank of Major. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Shannon, Britney, Anthony, Kyra; and Elizabeth; siblings Mervin, Kathleen (Barnott), and Colleen (Kidd). Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 29, 12:00 noon at the Granger Fifteenth Ward, 2835 South 2855 West, West Valley City. Viewing will be held Monday, December 28, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Interment, Taylorsville Cemetery.
