Our beloved mother and grandmother, Madonna Lee Miller passed away peacefully after failing health on October 18, 2017. She was 91.
Madonna was born on May 14, 1926, in Greentown, Indiana, as one of 10 children, to Sherwood E. and Zola Foland. She grew up in Howard County where she met the love her life John W.G. Miller. She and "Johnny" were married on Christmas Eve, 1942. They enjoyed 50 years together until his passing in 1993. Madonna worked several jobs throughout her life and was a very successful real estate agent and broker in Tucson for many years. She delighted in continued success when she moved to Safford in 1996 to be closer to family. She truly loved her work which allowed her to make many life-long friends along the way.
Madonna became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in June 1998 where she remained a devout and loyal member.
She is survived by four sons, David A. Miller (Jo Ann) of Tucson, John W.H. Miller (Sharon) of Benton City, WA, Donald L. Miller (Cheryl) of Safford and Harold G. Miller (Toni) of Reno, NV; two sisters, Melinda Metz of Cape Coral, Florida and Melbadeen Downing of Swayzee, Indiana. She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John W.G. Miller, son, Ronald W. Miller, 2 grandchildren and 7 brothers and sisters.
A viewing will take place at the Mt Graham LDS Chapel at 3722 S. Hwy 191 in Safford at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. Madonna will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson, AZ on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 11:00 am.
