Biography Marcelina Cervantez Romero of Clifton, Arizona was born June 2, 1916 in San Jose, Arizona and passed away peacefully at home February 12, 2011. She was married to Salvador Romero (who preceded her in death in 1985) for over fifty years and they had two children, Roger C. Romero and Patricia Romero Fowler. Her grandchildren include Roger A. Romero, John Michael Romero, Harold Damian Fowler and Vanessa Fowler Sandoval. Great-grand children are Roger M. Romero, Brittney Romero Mahoney, Lita Fowler, Katy Fowler, Alyssandra Sandoval and Lorena Sandoval and one great! great granddaughter Bethe Mahoney. Her one older brother Paul Cervantez, who lives in California, is the only surviving member of her eight siblings. She was brought up on a farm in San Jose, where she helped her father manage the house and selling of the crops. Most importantly, she helped raise her younger siblings when their mother died she was 11 years old. She also helped raise several cousins and nephews, then she married, raised two children and later helped raise two grand children. After raising her children, she went back to school and completed her high school certificate in 1981. In her home, a light was always on and there was always room for one more at the table. She was compassionate, loving and giving throughout her life and will be deeply missed by all her knew her. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 18, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Clifton. A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Church. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
