Marcello Arbizo

Marcello "Chacho" R. Arbizo, Jr., 66 of Safford passed away January 4, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 21, 1953 in Lordsburg, NM to Marcello A. & Leonarda "Nally" Arbizo and his siblings Anita, Frances, Gracie, Chris, Ralph, Luke, Ruben, Valentina, Arthur, Rosa, Gloria & Matt. The family moved to Safford where Chacho attended school, graduating from Safford High School in 1971. In July of 1973, he married his one true love, Cyndi Carrasco and they made their home in Safford as well. Soon children began arriving to this family. Jenny, JoPaul, Marcello III "Chachi" and Jessi. Working at Safeway to support his growing family, he began a career as a meat cutter where he stayed until retiring. Chacho was a family man who loved teaching his children. They went fishing, hunting and thoroughly enjoyed camping together. As the grandchildren began to arrive, he would enjoy watching them playing sports and spent many an evening at the ball parks with them. He was always happy and nice to all he met. He was also a man of great faith. He is survived by his beloved wife Cyndi, his children Jenny (Phillip) Elliott, JoPaul (Susie) Arbizo, Marcello III "Chachi" (Vanessa) Arbizo and Jessi (Ben) Clonts, his siblings; Anita and Frances Aranda, Gracie, Chris, Ralph and Luke Arbizo; 16 Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild. Chacho was preceded in death by his parents Marcello and Nally Arbizo, and his siblings Ruben, Valentina, Rosie "Panie", Arthur "Tudy", Gloria and Matt. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Father Nicodemus Shaghel, VC as Celebrant.
