Margie Lloyd

March 18, 1922 — April 9, 2010

Margie Christensen Lloyd Sport 1922 ~ 2010 Margie Christensen Lloyd, 88, our wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, great- great-grandmother and friend, left us to join our Heavenly Father early morning on April 9th 2010. Margie was born in Grace, Idaho on March 18, 1922 to Henry and Emma Christensen, she was one of eleven children. She was outgoing, lively, intelligent, loving, giving caring and loved to dance. She danced her way into the heart of Daniel Lloyd, whom she married on May 23rd, 1942. That day, Dan and Marge joined their hearts and souls to become one. Dan was a young, hard-working, heart throb and Margie was a young, naive beauty and together they had shared almost seven decades full of loving memories. Dan and Marge went onto have three children; Lynn, Larry and Paula. Dan and Marge had shared success and hardships, hopes and dreams, love and loss, youth and wrinkles, laughs and tears but through it all they are still and will always remain one. Margie retired as a long time banker from First Security National Bank and she and Dan began their adventurous retirement together. She loved to travel with her family and friends. Margie had been to Hawaii several times, went on cruises to the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, Mexico, Bahamas, Aruba, Alaska, Canada and toured the entire United States in one of their Fifth Wheels. She loved to snowmobile, golf, play cards with her friends, watch Wheel of Fortune and challenge herself at Jeopardy. She also loved canning, baking, quilting, knitting, pruning her beloved Lilac bushes, watering her flourishing gardens, sitting out on the porch reading her Danielle Steele novels and she loved to laugh, that was her most favorite thing to do. You never say Margie doing nothing, even if a simple game of Solitaire was being played. Margie loved her family and friends with every part of her soul and she was always smiling especially when eating her cookies, she was soon nicknamed The Cookie Monster. Dan and Margie were remarried in the LDS Temple and sealed for all Eternity. Margie will tell you that 69 years of marriage isnt easy but was worth every moment. Margie is dearly loved and survived by her adoring husband, Dan, and her daughter, Paula (Dale); her 4 grandchildren, Shawn (Jodi), Todd (Courtney), Jeremy (Gail), Amber (Justin); 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren. If you could capture Margies life into a bottle, it would be filled with every kiss, every hug, every smile, every touch, every I love you and every laugh sealed by Margie. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, with a viewing one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3:00 p.m., 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah.
