Maria Cruz

Maria N. Cruz, 84, of Clifton passed away in Tucson March 17, 2014. Maria was born on January 21, 1930 in Morenci, Arizona to Ruperto and Serapia Nunez Cruz. Maria lived in Clifton all of her life and had two children, Marcella Mesa and Roberto Cervantez, whom she loved very much. She always enjoyed having her grandkids and great-grandkids around all of the time. They were her babies, as she called them. She loved cooking for everyone, gardening, puzzle books, and most of all spending time with her whole family. Maria is survived by her children, Marcella Mesa and Roberto Cervantez; siblings, Lucy Garcia, Cecilia Cruz, Ester Cruz, Julia Alva and Louis Cruz; and 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruperto and Serapia Nunez Cruz; sister, Theresa Cruz; brothers, Rogalio Cruz, Manuel Cruz, Ruben Nunez; nieces, Christina Nunez and Julia Moreno; and nephew, Tony Delgado. Services for Maria will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the viewing beginning at 8:00 a.m., Rosary at 9:00 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Father Martin Atanga-Baabuge as Celebrant. Interment to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Morenci.
