Marilyn Bardsley Duncan Steadfast & Immovable Our beautiful mother, wife, sister and daughter, Marilyn Bardsley Duncan, returned to her Father in Heaven after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer on Sunday, November 30, 2008. Marilyn was born June, 8, 1946 in Richfield, UT, the daughter of Donna Morrison and Bob Bardsley. Marilyn was raised in Lark, UT and grew up with her brother, Terry and sisters, Caren (Neil) Sorenson, Jean (Delon) Hardy and Sue (Bob) Hopes. Marilyn attended and graduated from Bingham High School. Marilyn met and fell in love with her husband, William L. Duncan at the Terrace Ballroom and were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 1, 1968. Marilyn was a wonderful mother to 3 daughters: Cindy (Clint) Rasmussen, Gaylinn (Thom) Breeze and LeAnn Owens. She was the best grandma ever to her 10 grandchildren. Marilyn had many interesting jobs in her lifetime, but her most recent and longest was with Harmons Grocery. Marilyn was a friend to her co-workers and the customers that came in. Marilyn would always run into people that knew her from work. She had a strong work ethic and sick or not, she went to work without complaining. Marilyn was a faithful member of the LDS Church and had strong beliefs in the Eternal family. She held many callings but her most favorite was working with the young women and the Primary. Even with all her trials in life, Marilyn exemplified true Christ-like characteristics with every trial that came along. She showed compassion and forgiveness to those around her and had faith in our Fathers plan. Our family would like to extend a thank you to all the doctors and nurses who cared for her and tried to keep her healthy and with us for as long as possibleespecially to Dr. David Miner (a special friend and physician) and Doctor Whisenant. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Valley Park 6th Ward, 5200 South 3200 West. As per Marilyns request, there will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marilyns name to the LDS Church Missionary Fund or the Huntsman Cancer Research. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.
