Marjorie Cole Childers, 90, formally of Thatcher, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2016 in Eager, Arizona. She was born February 7, 1926 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Otilla McMannis and Harry Benjamin Cole. Marjorie graduated from Porterville Union High School in 1943. During WWII, she served as a teacher. On August 20, 1945, Marjorie was married and sealed to her husband, Rollie Thomas Childers, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they had 5 children. They moved to Thatcher, Arizona where they both served diligently in various church callings. Marjorie served in the Sunday School, Primary, Relief Society, the Family History Staff and, in 1985 with her husband, Rollie, in the England, Manchester Mission. In addition to serving in the church, she also enjoyed painting, sewing, baking bread, crocheting, and doing family history work. She was also an active member of the Graham County chapter of Republican Women. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends. She is survived by four of her children; Junie, Roger, Linda and Annette, 22 Grandchildren and 71 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otilla and Harry Cole, husband Rollie Childers, daughter Helen Walker and grandson Garn Sweet. Services for Marjorie will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Church Street LDS Chapel in Thatcher with a viewing at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Thatcher Cemetery.
