Mark Edward Congdon, age 61, of Safford, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018. He was born in DeKalb, Il on August 8, 1956 to William Congdon and Vera Verly.
Mark moved to Arizona in 1977 where he met his soon to be wife Kaye Shelton. He worked at various jobs throughout his life including Tom's Candy, Tiki Restaurant and merchandising various products at stores. Although Mark loved the outdoors and camping, he was best known as a "Home Man" because he greatly enjoyed being home taking care of the garden and cooking for the family.
He leaves behind his mother Vera, wife Kaye Congdon and children; Amy Congdon, Melissa (Paul) Mitchell, Joshua Congdon and Leslie (Aaron) Glaser and adopted children Lee-Andra Yazzie, Isaiah and Joey Soto along with 13 grandchildren, numerous foster children and extended family.
Mark was preceded in death by his father William Congdon Sr. and his brother William (Bill) Congdon.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at the McDougal's Caldwell Chapel with the funeral service starting at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor John Neal officiating.
