Marla Jean Natsyn 56 of Bylas, Arizona passed away on October 29, 2024 at Phoenix, Arizona. Marla was born on March 2, 1968 in San Carlos, Arizona. Marla was one of the seventh children being the youngest of Granville Nosie Sr and Betty Jane Nosie. 

Marla grew up in Bylas where she attended Fort Thomas Elementary and High school which she completed 1986. On March 13, 1986 Marla had her first daughter named Marlena Nosie. 

In the year 1987 Marla met Daren Natsyn Sr (deceased) she later married Daren on September 12, 1988. Marla and Daren later had 5 children together named Michael, Daren Jr (deceased), Mitchell, Derek and DeAuriauna. 

Marla worked many jobs such as being a fire fighter for the San Carlos Apache Forest Resources, Receptionist for the Bylas Clinic, it wasn’t until later years Marla became a homemaker where she stayed home to raise her children. 

Marla’s hobbies include doing bead work, playing coin master on her phone, she loved to sit outside with family cooking and telling stories about the good times, she also liked to watch Dharman and Chinese drama. She beaded traditional Apache tee necklaces, earrings, medallions and traditional medicine bags. 

Marla would also sit outside with her son Derek and sing traditional Apache songs. She would explain the meaning behind the traditional Apache songs to her son. Marla enjoyed cooking and sometimes would sell the food she made to the community for her source of income. She was known for making chips and salsa, cinnamon rolls, yeast rolls, Apache corn bread and green chili cheese crisp. 

Marla had 3 grand children named Kaylee, Kobe and Daren Hinton all of Bylas. On December 23, 2013 Marla met Todd Yazzie of Cibecue, Arizona who later became her companion. Overall Marla being with her children and grandchildren having Sunday dinners which became a tradition for them. 

Marla leaves behind her children Marlena, Michael, Mitchell, Derek and DeAuriauna. Her grand children Kaylee, Kobe and Daren. Also her siblings Mary Walters- Alfred Walters, Rosalind Mull- Fernando Mull, Granville Nosie Jr- Brenda Nosie and Dion Nosie Sr- Colleen Nosie. Marla was proceeded in death with her husband Daren Natsyn Sr, her son Daren Natsyn Jr, her brother Frederick Nosie, her parents Granville Nosie Sr and Betty Jane Nosie.

A wake will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at the Nastyn residence in Bylas beginning at 4:00 p.m.  The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 4th at the Stanley Memorial Hall starting at 12:00 pm with the burial in the Black Point Cemetery following services.
