Marlene June Davies Gardiner Peachie Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother returned unexpectedly to the arms of her Heavenly Father June 23, 2009 while surrounded by her loving family. Peachie was born February 29, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Chief Samuel Barber Davies of the South Salt Lake Fire Department and Verla Minnie Jones. She married Alfred N. Prudence and was later divorced. She married Dean A. Gardiner and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Mom was a very devoted and generous mother and grandmother. She insisted on making everyone comfortable and had a knack for making you feel welcome. As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she enjoyed years of service in the Jordan River Temple. Mom was extremely self-reliant and independent and often times stood as a pillar of strength to those around her. She is survived by her children: Daniel Rob (Barbara) Prudence, Shaunna (Gary) Boswell, and Cory (Pam) Gardiner; grandchildren: Juston, Tiffany, Nicole, Kellen and Brittney; great-grandchildren: Zack and Kylee; sisters: Marion Wilson, Delores Nelson and Sherla Butcher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean; and her parents. Friends and family may call Sunday, June 28, 2009, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 29, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at the Taylorsville West Stake Center, 3420 West 4505 South following a viewing from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Valley View Memorial Estates.
