Martha Janell Nichols was born on November 9, 1951 and went to be with Heavenly Father on August 1, 2014. Janell was born to Wesley and Wanda Crum in Safford, Arizona and spent most of her life here. Janell loved the outdoors, especially Mt. Graham. Her favorite spot was at Arcadia. She also spent countless weekends fishing and camping with the family when the kids were growing up. She loved cats and thought they were the best source of therapy! Janell never met a child who stayed a stranger - she was Mom, Memaw or Ma to any child who set foot in her home. Janell is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ace Nichols; four children - Ace W.(Lefty) Nichols, Jennifer Blackwell (Jeff), Jason Nichols (Tynille) and Crystal Hardin (Andrew). She is also survived by 7 grandchildren who were a constant source of joy and pride: Kenneth Nichols, Harmony Nichols, Jace Blackwell, Jordan Nichols, Jalie Nichols, CJ Smith and Zachary Smith. Janell is also survived by siblings Sherry Lynn Johnson (Marty), Eddie Crum (Lowree) and Connie Wilhoit (Jimmy). She was preceded in death by her parents Wesley and Wanda, and her brothers CW Crum, Butch Crum, David Crum and Wade Crum. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 4th at 5:00 p.m. at the Mt. Graham LDS Church, 7th Ward. Refreshments will follow the service.
