Martin N. Lopez, 83, passed away December 11, 2010, in Tucson, AZ., where he had resided for the past 3 years. He was born in Aragon, NM., to Manuelita Najar & Santiago Baca Lopez on November 9, 1927. Martin married Stella Madrid in Aragon, NM. Stella later passed away in 1968 at which time he moved to Duncan, AZ. Martin began working for Phelps Dodge as a mechanic punch operator and worked for 34 years retiring in 1982. He married Beatrice H. Devoll and they were married for 36 years before Beatrice passed away in 2007. Martin was an active member of St Marys Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic minister. Martin is survived by his daughters Mary Corona, and Teresita Guerrero of Tucson, sons Rudy (Eva) of Tucson, and Gilbert (Marti) of Texas, Sisters Erlinda Reyes of York Valley, and Adelina Cordova of Safford, 11 grandchildren and 8 Great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Caldwell Funeral Chapel on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, December 17th, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Duncan. Interment will follow in the Duncan Cemetery.
