Marty Rios

Joseph Martin Marty Rios, Sr., 57, of Gilbert passed away on July 14, 2012 in Mesa, AZ. Marty was born in Safford, AZ on August 27th, 1954 to John A. Rios and the late Dolores Alvarado Rios. He attended Safford High School when he enlisted in the US Navy in 1973. He was honorably discharged from the Navy after serving active duty for three years. Marty worked for the Phelps Dodge copper mine for 27 years and lived in Morenci during this time. Some of Marty's hobbies included fishing, camping, hunting, attending Diamondbacks baseball games, and gardening. Marty is survived by five children: Monica Maxwell, Eleanor Aguilar, Joseph Martin Rios, Jr., Inocente Rios, and Roxanna Rios. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, his father, John A. Rios, and his siblings, Kate Rios, Georgia Perea, Johnny Rios, Marvin Rios, Dolores Diane Thomas, Nanci Abalos, Albert Rios, Gabriel Rios, Marie Bernadette Fabian, and Michael Rios. Funeral services were held on July 20th at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church
